First: I’m sorry I forgot to notify people about the game “Tag You’re It” before, or at the same time, I posted about it here. My brain was not working, I guess. Dunno why. Everyone I “tagged” was notified hours after the post.
Second: Has anyone watched Downton Abbey? I did when it was on. I forgot, before cancelling my cable television, that the series second season would be starting in January.
Until about two days ago when I saw something on the internet about the second season. I found a link to the second season episodes on Downton Abbey: Surviving the wait for Season Two on PBS. I HAVE to watch the first season again, I know, not rational, but I MUST before watching the second season. The second season episodes will EXPIRE on March 7th (You can watch on PBS, which is what I am doing.). ACK! If only I had remembered earlier. I don’t watch very much television, but I AM watching this, waited for so long for the second season and I did not even think about it when I had my cable turned off.
Stupid me. Please forgive my temporary absence….PLEASE?!?!?! I have to watch. I am left without any impulse to resist. I must.
I love the series.
If you watched Downton Abbey, either season, did you like it?
THere seems to be Downton Abbey fever in England but I am one of (what seems here like) the few people who has never been attracted to it.
Really? I love it. I don’t usually like stories around the beginning of the century, not sure why, but I love this one!
I don’t really watch much TV. My favourite shows at the moment are Desperate Housewives, The Mentalist and Castle. I don’t really watch any others at the moment.
I have watched Desperate Housewives a few times, it can be quite funny. I have not seen the Mentalist nor Castle. How are those two shows? I like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Once Upon a Time. Person of Interest. Don’t watch much more than those. Do like movies too though!
I like The Mentalist and Castle very much. TM is about an ex-conman who has reformed following the murder of his wife and child and uses his skills to help the CBI to investigate crimes. Castle is about a crime writer who is shadowing a NYC cop for inspiration for his novels but his theories end up helping the police to solve crimes.
Both are very funny, besides the subject matter.
I like films, too. I didn’t used to watch them much so now I feel I’m catching up. I just couldn’t sit still long enough to watch them!
I have seen commercials for The Mentalist, didn’t realize he is an ex-conman. I do like crime dramas, I should give it a watch and see if I like it. Oh, and I didn’t know Castle was about a writer! Wow, never knew that at all. Does the cop know he is being shadowed by the writer? Oh, never mind, he must if this theories end up helping the police. LOL Hadn’t got that far. They are funny too?
I do like movies. I have to be in the mood to watch a film tho. If not, I become distracted or bored and end up not watching the whole thing.
Oh I love crime dramas, too. I used to love Due South. At lunchtime I was here with my dog and I put Neighbours on (I forgot about that, I watch that when I can!
), but it was almost over and CSI New York came on. I don’t usually watch any of the CSI’s because I’m sure I’d get hooked! But since I was eating my lunch I left it on, and sure enough I got hooked.
Yes, Castle is sort of like an informal partner in a way to the female cop he’s shadowing. Needless to say there’s a little spark between the two, though she always tries to deny it while he is obvious. I tend to make a bit of an occasion of watching a film, but I rarely watch one in one go. I usually end up watching it in two or three installments!
Me too. I don’t really watch too many comedies. Not exactly sure why. I guess I had enough of things like “Threes Company” and stuff as a kid. Altho I guess Crime Dramas are pretty much the same too, bad guys vs. good guys.
I only watch the original CSI. I don’t mind CSI NY, but I do NOT like CSI Miami cuz I can’t stand whatshisname, Caruso. Just do NOT like that guy at all. So I don’t watch. I found a new show, I do watch it on Hulu (internet), it is named “The Finder”. I like it because it is both humorous and about crime. I have only watched a few, but so far so good. I will see if Castle is on Hulu and give an episode a look-see.
I used to watch a lot of comedies. There were some English ones I really liked but English ones tend not to be so good these days, in my opinion. I went through a real phase of comedies like Friends, Frasier, Will & Grace and all sorts of other American ones that came out at the same time, but they seemed to end around a similar time, too. I don’t know enough about the CSi’s to tell them apart, although I guess I favour NY simply because that’s the one I’ve seen the most.
I go through stages I think. Hasn’t been a lot of comedy for awhile, I think because they are all starting to sound the same? I use to LOVE watching, OMG….what was the name of it…Lordy, can’t think of the name of it. There was an apartment complex, or maybe actually on old house that had been made in to apartments, with a wacky self-serving manager and some loony tenants. I’d have to say the 80′s? The manager was an older, skinny guy. One of the tenants was a younger man with long, shoulder-length, dark hair, and of course, the lady tenant always hitting on the manager. Wow, haven’t thought of that in a long time.
I don’t know it, I don’t think. It does seem that programmes go in phases, though. All of a sudden they’ll be a couple of hits in a certain style, then more try to emulate it and those take over for several years. Then people get fed up with them and something else comes along seeming new.
I really, really liked that one. I never saw all the episodes and tried to find it on the net a few years ago, now I can’t remember the name.
Figures. I think you are right, they do seem to go in phases.
Hi! Thanks for the tag
I haven’t seen D T A, but I heard it is good
You are welcome!
I like D T A, very much!
Like you, I am not a big TV watcher…. However; all of that changed with Downton Abbey… we luv it….!!! We watched the first series during 2011. The second series doesn’t reach our shores (I think) ’til the latter part of this year – 2012. What fantastic actors, story, music; in fact, it’s all soooooo good. Didn’t think I’d ever be this interested in a tele program and yet; that’s the result of this wonderful series…. I’m even surprising myself with this reaction…. 10 out of 10 for this one…!!
Isn’t it a great show? It won’t be on until the end of 2012 over there? I think the third season will be on by then here! WOW! Sux to have to wait so long.
Thank you for the 10 out of 10 too!
Love Downton Abbey. Sucked up twp seasons in just one. Now hoping and waiting for a third.
I am jazzed to have someone to talk about with. :
Me too! I re-watched all of the first season, and I am going to watch episode 5 later. I watched the first season again just to refresh my memory. I LOVE THIS SHOW! Do you to want to smack O’Brien and Thomas? I do. Sometimes Lady Mary, altho I think she is finally growing up.
I loved the first series, but the second one was really disappointing. Sorry – hopefully you will like it more! There is a third series being filmed. We also had a Christmas special.
I have made it up to episode five in the second series. I haven’t been disappointed yet, why were you? The third season is suppose to air at the end of 2012 here. I will have to set a reminder on my calendar so I don’t forget, like I did before I had my cable shut off! Otherwise I will be rushing, like now, to watch it on PBS before it expires. Christmas special? Really? What was it like? About shooting the series or??
The second series just jumps around a lot, moves too quickly, too many unnecessary characters. It just wasn’t as good. The Christmas special was ok but again tries to cover a lot of ground for some reason. Not sure what the rush is!
I do have to agree on that, it does seem to jump around a bit.
Hadn’t thought of that. Was the Christmas special actually a movie about it or about the making of it?
The Christmas special is actually part of the series, like an extra long episode.
Oh, I probably watched then and didn’t even realize it was a special episode!
