Haven’t been in rl, but decided to see if it exists in Sl. It DOES! Having never been there, I have no idea of how close the SL version is, I will leave that up to those who have been. Although, please keep in mind this is in a game! Size alone would prevent it from being fully realized in a game.

I have gone to a few “Real Life” places in SL. I am always amazed by the time and effort that have gone into making something so creative. Everything you see, that you can actually WALK ON, SIT ON, RUN on, is made from PICTURES. Pictures of real grass, real buffalo, etc…The picture is the “texture” of a build, which, when there are no textures on it, look like a piece of wood. The wood is in the shape of a box, circle, and a few other shapes. It isn’t easy to do. I like to build in SL, however, I’m lousy at it, you can take classes. I should take classes. Making the shapes isn’t so hard, it is “lining” up the textures so they appear correctly. For example, it just wouldn’t work if, on the monument, Roosevelt’s nose was on Lincoln. (That is an extensive build so it wouldn’t actually happen, but I hope you get the idea.) Some textures, like the grass in the photo, have “clear” parts on them so you can see right through them. That is how windows are made in SL, and you can see people walking by, so it works. Awesome really.
I have been going in there a few times a week now. I get bored easily tho, played too long I guess. Not sure why I keep going, maybe it is because it is an option for something to do.

Lots of things to see. I always wanted to own my own island in game, but they charge REAL MONEY for that as it is on its own server, so it costs about 300 bucks a month. I think. Been a while since I looked since the first time I looked I went in sticker shock. Haven’t checked again.

I need to see it again, it has been years since I saw it, when I was a kid. Hmm…maybe Hulu has it. I am gonna check. I remember liking the movie.
