This broke my heart.
Me too, grew up with him!
My big sisters used to watch Dick Clark on television after school.
I watched it all the time!!! The original “MTV”!
He will be missed.
He surely will!
Like a lot of people, I grew up with American Bandstand and Dick Clark. I would rush home from school, during what I called my “innocent years” to see the show and watch the participants dance.
Dick was one of the first people in America to bring in black Americans and other races, and helped to make the show a effective cross-mix of what was America at that time. He was actually ahead of his time on this issue. I loved the music, much to the chagrin of my mother who didn’t go to work until 5PM.
Those were good times and a big piece of the American Pie. He surely will be missed.

They were good times!! Weren’t they? I loved watching his show, couldn’t wait. I told someone a few minutes ago that he was the original “MTV”. Bless him!
An American Icon…
Yes he is!
Amazing the impact he had on… what, 3 or 4 generations?
Heck yeah! An icon! A great man with great ideas! He will be missed.
