He can now travel anywhere the couch might be touching!
He is a terrific busy body, good thing he is a dog and can’t speak, he’d know all your secrets from watching you out the window!

He’s a clever pooch…

So cute to watch her…
Reminds me of Sweetie… She sits at the front door and barks at passers by leading dogs….
She knows she’s not allowed to bark and a simple ‘Sit’ command will have her sitting and stop barking… Good doggy…
However; after I leave she runs to one of the front windows where she continues to make ‘growling’ noises and watches ‘her domain’…
How are you? Haven’t heard from you lately..!
He is! Wait until you see the picture for tomorrow!
Not giving it away either. You will laugh.
Shadow barks at everything, even things I can’t see when I check cuz he is in a barking mode like you wouldn’t believe. I believe he barks at leaves floating in the wind!
He ignores me when I say no.
Still too young I guess, but I keep trying. I drove up to the house Saturday and he went ballistic at the front window. Barking like you wouldn’t believe. When I came in the house he was so excited he catapulted himself right off that table. Usually he runs down to the sofa and then to the floor. I could NOT believe it.
They are such a laugh…!!!
Hey; I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s pic already…
I wonder if he’ll ever get so big that he won’t need the sofa or the table…? Probably not…
I don’t think so either. I have been trying to think of something I can buy, a bit shorter, that I can put in front of the window for him to sit on. I had to take the stuff off of the table, I had visions of coming home and finding him bleeding on the floor from broken glass. Maybe I can find an old ottoman somewhere.
I thought I killed him last night.
I really did. Sometime while I was sleeping I woke up and the covers were tangled around me, without thinking I sat up and, to straighten them, threw the covers up at each corner with my arms.
He went flying. Usually he is underneath, not on top. I was so shocked when I heard him yelp! Trying to get to the light switch in the dark without stepping on him was no fun, and he was yelping the whole time. When I picked him up to hold him his eyes kept shutting, as if he were knocked out or trying to sleep. I started to freak out thinking I killed him and he was going to die in my arms. Bleh. I put him down, to call my sister in a panic, and the little bugger got up and started running around. I think he was a bit clouded tho, as I played fetch with him and for a few minutes instead of bringing the item right to me he would wander a bit to the right of me. I was so scared. Me, the dog killer.
I’m so sorry – I’m laughing my little head off here….

The vision of him ‘sailing’ through the air just rocks my socks….
I am soooooo glad though, that he’s okay…. Sounds like he was a little ‘knocked out’ for a while… Poor little thing. You must have felt dreadful…. ;(
The neighbour, across from us, does that. He has an ottoman at a front window and his little dog ‘Princess’ (a maltese terrier) sits on it and watches the world go by… She, like Shadow, woofs at just about anything that moves….. I had to train Sweetie not to bark though cause she didn’t know when to stop…. and…. it’s a loud bark….
It’s ok, my sister laughed too, then feigned having a phone call so she could burst out laughing and not have me hear her. That is ok too, cuz once I got past my mortification, my warped sense of humor, inherited from my mother, returned to me in full force. Heheheheh Yes, he is ok. I did have another moment tho when he was closing his eyes and I started to shake him to wake him. Had a thought, “hmmm…maybe shaking the poor doggie whose head I just boxed isn’t such a good idea”? Heheheh
I have been looking at ottoman’s too. I think I am gonna get one. The table is a bit high so he stands with his hind legs on the table and his front legs on the windowsill, so he looks like his butt is up in the air. LOL
Yes, he woofs at anything. I wish I could train him not to bark, how did you train Sweetie? I need to learn that trick.
The trick to teaching Sweetie was to be ‘consistent’. It took quite a while however; I just perservered. Firstly though, the daughter had taught her to sit on command (once again through perserverance and reward – little snacks). So basically I continued the ‘sit’ command everytime she barked and she eventually got the message. She still barks away until I get to her. I have to be right on top of her commanding that she sit. It doesn’t work from ten feet away… if you know what I mean.
But ‘it does work’…
I think Shadow is about potty-trained too! Still an accident here or there, but doing good. I will try to teach him not to bark, sometimes that is actually VERY IRRITATING! He goes on and on….. Little bugger.
