Huntress Catteneo and Attica Bekkers – Second Life

I went to visit Second Life.  Haven’t been in a while.  I visited with my friends, Huntress Catteneo and Attica Bekkars.

We had a nice time visiting with each other.   I was shown around their sim.  I have seen parts of it on earlier visits.  But was shown more and most importantly, saw the RIDES they have created. Rides for carnivals.  I LOVE carnivals.   We enjoyed some of the rides too.  I had posted about Second Life a while back, when my friend, Huntress again, was having an ArtFest.  It went well and she said people really enjoyed themselves very much. The Artfests are for charitable reasons. Here is a link to a book she wrote about 6 months ago. Looking into the Darkness I haven’t read it. (It is a REAL LIFE book, not a SECOND LIFE book)  You can view some of the pages of the book on the site itself if interested.

A picture of Attica.  You can see that behind both Huntress and Attica there are “carnival” booths.  I won a free poster, actually hit the target with the dart.  :)   YAYAYYAAY.  I had to shoot the dart quite a few times however.  Even in games they make it tough to win.  :)

It was all in fun and I had fun.  I actually met Attica yesterday, I had not known her before.  She and Huntress are business partners in SL and own a SIM, which is where they create their items, let people play on the rides and such and sell the items they create.  Both are very artistic and talented.  It is lovely being able to see what they have created.  If you want to visit their Sim and store just visit these links.

Huntress’ store: Eclectic Diversity

Atticas’ store: Heck, I have forgotten the name of her store. Whimsical Wally??? Crud.

Here we are on one of the rides Attica has created, she is “saving” me, that is why she is hanging off of the spaceship!  It is a good thing Attica was “hanging” around, who knows what planet I might have ended up visiting!

Abducted by a spaceship, Attica saving me!

All I can say is thank goodness for good people, HEROES,even!  :)    I was amazed by her ability to hold on, not to mention her strength when pulling that wayward spaceship back to earth!  The gravity pull alone must have been astronomical!

Bouncy Room

Bouncy Room

That is me, in the Bouncy room.  It is a good thing there is no ceiling.  I am tall in Second Life, 6’5″ if I remember correctly.  Each time I bounced I went right through the roof!  The “boing” sound alone made me laugh, it was great!  :)

Afterwards Huntress took me to another place that was having a Valentine’s Day Art Festival.  Here is a picture of Huntress’ entry in the competition:

I think she did a great job.  You might not be able to tell, there are small hearts laying around on the ground and behind the artwork itself.  Some of these make you “do” things in-world.  Like dance or relax.  I took a picture of the two of us dancing after we “sat” on the hearts.  (“Sitting” on various items, hundreds of items, can make you simulate movement in-world) Here you go! We were just having a nice time visiting

with each other and being silly or crazy. I really enjoyed myself.  Hope you like the pictures!

Artwork Tour
Artists along the path

Hop on the train, and remember that it starts and stops with a simple touch on the engine.
If you decide you have finished with the train, please leave it running so it can return to the station for other people to use.

Along the tracks there are stop signs, these are the best places to pause to look at the works, or hop off for a moment to follow one of the paths of footprints.

To begin with catch the train.
First stop just up the right slope -
Louly Loon

A very short distance, second train stop at the base of a rainbow path, sit on the small car waiting at the base and it will take you up to the top where you will see a green arrow to your left.
Sledge Roffo

Return the way you went up and continue on the train again.  The pictures in and around the black square are not part of the competition, but you could certainly pause and look at them.  The next stop is just before the shop, up the slope of the mountain.
Attica Bekkers

Continue on the train, past the shop, through the tunnel, and all the way to the corner of the sim, to stop for the next artwork.
Nexuno Thespian

The next stop marked for the train is beside a gap between the hills, where you follow the footprint path to and from the next two points, after which you hop back on the train,
Dammi Quan
La Baroque

Just after the next bend, you will see a few entries in a row going from the corner, and following the river inland. If you look at the one on the corner and follow from there, you will ses a path of prints form the second in line, taking you to the third and back again.
Stardove Spirit
Lagu Indigo
Suta Northman

Across the river on the opposite corner is the next train stop, and from there you continue to the next sim corner.
Asmita Duranjaya

In this spot you should receive a message, if you do not, then you can touch the artist’s name plate to get it that way.
Neeks Karu

This is the only stop marked underwater, and the artwork here extends from the seafloor, to on the waters surface, you can also sit in the box on the surface as part of this piece.
Huntress Catteneo

After travelling through the mountain pass, the next stop will bring you to some art on the left.
Nomadic Ember

Down close to the riverbank is your last train stop.  At this point touch the train to send it home, and now follow the foot print path.
UrDesires Nishi

Across the small rainbow bridge, you will see the path going off to the right, follow this along the river and up the slight slope.
Relay Caedmon

From there continue up to on the small hill.
Penelope Parx

Then back down once more to the lake side.

Finally follow the path across the river via the rocks, at the build you will find a video link to watch, it is not long and I would urge all to do so.
After this point just head around the lake back to the shop landing.
