About THIS BLOG & Maybe me

Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly & & tenderly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.”

I am so happy you have found my blog and I hope to be able to keep it up. But let’s not hold our breath

I am just figuring out what things are really for on blogs, how to create (I hope) more compelling dialogue which I also hope will inspire conversation.

Now that I have found my groove….

I realized just recently that there are two “About’”(s)  on a blog. One for the profile and for the blog. I am changing both now that I have better insights as to how they both should be used.
This ABOUT is about my blog, not so much me. My hopes and dreams for this space is mainly for my creative expressions. In writing and in other mediums that require more use of my hands. I am a person who lives with chronic pain and fatigue daily due to a combination of over lapping conditions. The three that you will read more about here than all of combined are; Fibromyalgia , Connective Tissue Disease and degenerative Spinal  cervical disc disease. Funny that the spell checker in 2011 still has no clue what Fibromyalgia should be spelled like.
I write to express and release emotions that revolve around my mid and heart. I have been writing for myself since I finally was able to convince my older brother to teach me how before I started school.  There are many good things to be said about having an older brother. This may be one of my most cherished.
I’ll write about anything that comes to my mind that I believe has some value and merits for someone other than me.  I write about life and all that it brings me, brings us as a large community. I am a firm believer in community. I write about those in my life and they delights and wonders they bring to my smaller world. I write about medicine and my illnesses and what living every day of your life for almost 28 years does to me. Does to you. I express my frustrations in trying to navigate in the world of medical providers who are supposed to deliver medicine not homilies. I have been writing and advocating for people who live with intractable chronic pain & fatigue for most of 25 years. I say “most of” only because there have been months and even to be honest 4 years when I was bed and couch grounded. Not much was happening in those days but surviving.
I also express myself through art. What I prefer to call folk art. I have some problem with the word craft and am not sure why. So I prefer in my case folk art. Paper is my popular medium of choice. All kinds. Then add adhesives, ways to cut, trim, and sculpt paper, and any way to add color and I am on my way. Of course I add canvases, embellishments I make, beads, ribbons, you name it any kind of ephemera meets the bill. The results are collages, altered books, shadow boxes, 3D arts, memory and scrapbooks, hand crafted cards just to name a few. My hope is to have enough energy when finishing a piece to get the images posted here so I have a gallery or library of my works. I hope to still get images shot and posted.& am hoping too that I’ll be able to go back to finished pieces that were done some time ago and get shots taken and images posted.
Again we’ll see. Because working as a person with debilitating diseases that cause chronic pain and fatigue means making choices. Every day, every hour I have to decide how I am going to use MY SPOONS for that event.

I am nominating euzicasa for this lovely award, along with Lady Barefoot Baroness

euzicasa must  be nominated because I love his blend of “Old World” style with a modern flair.  He seems like a very wise and caring person to me.  His “Hope” is contained within the fact that he CAN combine these two worlds with great ease. In my eyes anyway.

Lady Barefoot Baroness blog also contains hope, in a world struggling with many issues, she retains her sense of hope and wonder.  Her words pass this on to the reader.
