grass today! Yayayayayayayayaya. I was beginning to wonder if the weather was actually gonna catch up with the idea that it is SPRING! I saw evidence today that it is on the way. I am so happy.
I spent the day sweeping, mopping, dusting and rearranging my living room. It looks so nice. I still have to switch places between a seven foot bookcase and a lowboy, but will finish that when I get home today. My living room is absolutely wide open with space, airy and light. I LOVE IT. I no longer have cable/tv so I am going to put the television in one of the EMPTY (silent prayer of thanks that they are now empty) bedrooms. Don’t have to make sure the television can be seen and arrange the room around THAT!
You know, while it has been so cold here, I have been a bit lax in teaching him his potty manners. I cleaned up the messes in good faith, and when it was warm did take him outside. Hasn’t been warm much tho. But the last few days it has been. Shadow was outright put out with me today. Usually follows me around the house, everywhere I go. Today tho, I not only enforced the potty outside rules but added a collar and leash to the mix. He wasn’t happy. I could see he was genuinely put out with me. Sitting and looking at me asking me with his big eyes why I was putting a crimp in his style of free range roaming and enforcing the potty rule. Poor puppy. He is getting way too fast for this old lady to catch up with him tho.
Yesterday he wanted to make friends with the nice big, kept outside all his life, lab. Ran right toward him. All bouncy and happy, the kept outside all his life lab was downright hostile. Barking, jumping and snarling at Shadow as he came toward him. I see the lab play with the owners’ mother’s dog all the time. (The mother has been staying with him for the last month or so). The lab and the Corgi get along great! The Corgi is a nice doggie, he once in a while greets me when I open my car door to get out after arriving home. Shadow, after running towards the lab, in full hopes of meeting a new friend, realizes just in time that the possible “new friend” isn’t acting so friendly. His gait and swagger slows, his friendliness towards others is seen, by me, to change to caution. While his little butt is still moving forward to the lab. Slower to be sure, but still going. I caught him in time. Thank goodness. That lab is full-grown and pure, he is a pride to his breed with his size alone. HUGE. He’d kill Shadow with one jump in the air and landing on Shadow. He might not be mean to Shadow, like I said, he plays nice with the Corgi, but I didn’t want to take a chance.
How was YOUR day?
First: I’m sorry I forgot to notify people about the game “Tag You’re It” before, or at the same time, I posted about it here. My brain was not working, I guess. Dunno why. Everyone I “tagged” was notified hours after the post.
Second: Has anyone watched Downton Abbey? I did when it was on. I forgot, before cancelling my cable television, that the series second season would be starting in January. Until about two days ago when I saw something on the internet about the second season. I found a link to the second season episodes on Downton Abbey: Surviving the wait for Season Two on PBS. I HAVE to watch the first season again, I know, not rational, but I MUST before watching the second season. The second season episodes will EXPIRE on March 7th (You can watch on PBS, which is what I am doing.). ACK! If only I had remembered earlier. I don’t watch very much television, but I AM watching this, waited for so long for the second season and I did not even think about it when I had my cable turned off. Stupid me. Please forgive my temporary absence….PLEASE?!?!?! I have to watch. I am left without any impulse to resist. I must. I love the series.
If you watched Downton Abbey, either season, did you like it?
